zum Forschungsseminar 'Computergrafik, Bildverarbeitung und
Visualisierung' am Dienstag, den 25. Februar 2014, 13:15 Uhr, Raum P-701
im Paulinum am Augustusplatz.

Wir hören einen Vortrag von:

Alexander Wiebel
Hochschule Coburg,
Fakultät Elektrotechnik/Informatik,
Labor "Visualisierung und Computergrafik"

mit dem Titel

"Visualization and Detection of Buildings in Urban Areas from Aerial
Laser Scanning Data using OpenWalnut"

zum Inhalt:

Larger construction works like Leipzig's city tunnel require thorough
monitoring of close-by buildings. Vibrations originating from the
construction works can affect the stability of the buildings or even
damage them. In order to predict and avoid such damage, civil engineers
want to simulate the structural stability and degradation of buildings.
Solid models are commonly used for this purpose. For new buildings CAD
models are usually available. However, for older buildings models or
even construction plans are often missing. This is especially true for
many buildings in the center of Dublin, which will serve as running
example in this talk. Rough models for such buildings can be obtained
from aerial laser scanning (ALS) data. This talk explains how to use
OpenWalnut for the first steps of detecting, separating, reconstructing
and visualizing single buildings from the point clouds representing the
ALS data.

Alle Interessierten sind im Namen von Professor Dr. Scheuermann herzlich
eingeladen.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
Patrick Oesterling
